NSE Of India And BSE Of India

Are you aware of the fact that there are 23 stock exchanges in India, comprising both regional and national? Out of these, the NSE of India and the BSE of India are considered as the principal bourses because majority of the transactions take place here. Moreover, BSE of India is the oldest bourse of the country, instrumental in facilitating the growth of the capital market. The NSE of India has undertaken various pioneering efforts in elevating the status of the capital market in the world map. Online trading of stocks was first initiated in the country by this bourse.

There is good news for investors who want to diversify their portfolio with new derivative instruments. The SEBI has allowed launch of derivatives contracts on foreign stock indices. Soon the NSE India will introduce derivatives based on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and the S&P500 indices of the USA. Furthermore, it has entered into a joint venture with NYSE Life, allowing it to launch derivatives in the 100-share FTSE index of UK.

BSE India is also all geared up to launch index-based derivatives in the foreign market; talks with Eurex are in progress.
